Custom Design
A piece made from scratch, or an inherited one rebuilt into something you will actually wear. The stone is chosen first, then you see a 3D rendering and wear a printed model before anything is cast.

Natural, lab grown and colored
Astra keeps natural and lab grown diamonds side by side and will set the two out at matching cut, color, clarity and carat so the price gap is visible rather than described. Colored stones are sourced for each custom piece, which means sapphire, emerald, ruby and the less obvious ones are picked for the piece instead of pulled from stock.
Any piece from anywhere
Bring in something bought anywhere, in any condition. It is assessed with you, quoted free, and the work is coordinated through jewelers we trust. No appointment is needed to drop a piece off during opening hours.
Ring Resizing
Gold, platinum and silver sized up or down for a fit that stays put. The most requested job in the studio.
Chain & Necklace Repair
Snapped chains, broken links and worn clasps soldered and restored so the piece goes back into rotation.
Loose & Missing Stones
Tightening, resetting or replacement, arranged before a stone that has started moving finds its way out of the setting.
Prong Repair & Retipping
Worn prongs are the single most common cause of a lost diamond. Rebuilding and retipping is coordinated to keep stones held.
Bracelet Repair
Hinges, links, safety catches and stretched clasps repaired in matching metal rather than swapped for the nearest generic part.
Engraving
Initials, dates and messages cut into rings, pendants and the inside of bands. Bring the exact wording and it is set out before cutting.
Polishing & Cleaning
Scratched, dull and tarnished pieces polished and cleaned, heirloom and vintage included, with advice first where wear is part of the piece.
Restoration
Older pieces brought back to wearable condition. What can be saved and what cannot is explained before you decide anything.

The correct cell fitted, the case gasket replaced and the caseback resealed, then pressure checked where the case allows.

Booking ahead is worth it for custom design, engagement rings and diamond viewing, because those visits are appointment driven so someone is free to sit down with you and pull stones rather than fitting you between drop offs.
How much does jewelry or watch repair cost at Astra Jewelers?
Every repair is quoted per piece and the estimate is always free and given before any work starts. Astra Jewelers does not publish fixed prices because the cost of a resize depends on the metal and how many sizes it moves, and the cost of a watch service depends on what is found once the case is opened. Bring the piece in, or send a photo by WhatsApp for a first look, and you approve the price before anything is touched.
How long do repairs take?
It depends on the job. Watch battery replacement, link removal and strap fitting are the quickest work we do. Crystal replacement, crown and stem work, clasp repair and polishing typically run three to seven days. Full watch movement service is quoted at intake because it is coordinated through specialist watchmakers. Every piece is given a realistic date when you drop it off, and Astra Jewelers calls you the moment it is ready.
Does Astra Jewelers sell both natural and lab grown diamonds?
Yes, both. Astra Jewelers in Upper Montclair stocks and sources natural diamonds and lab grown diamonds, and will show you the two side by side at the same specification so you can see the difference and the price gap for yourself rather than being steered.
